2nd Annual Science in the Valley/Bio/Blitz; (flora and fauna count.)
Join FoCW and the Sierra Club on Sunday May 28th in the Central Walbran Valley to learn more about the Temperate Rainforest and help record the diverse and threatened wildlife that calls this place home.
Schedule;
10:30-11am; Arrive
11-12am; Welcome by Pacheedaht elder Bill Jones and briefing by knowledgeable experts, including renowned entomologist Dr Zoe Lindo.
12-1pm; Light Lunch and refreshments supplied by Soule Creek Lodge of Port Renfrew.
1pm-7pm Guided Hikes/bioblitz.
Easy challenge hikes.
Emerald pool trail, 15 minutes.
Lower HNMT trail, 45 minutes.
Medium/hard challenge hikes.
Harriett Nahanee Memorial Trail-2.5 hours.
Castle Grove/Giant Trail-3 hours
Anderson Lake Trail-6 hours.
7pm; Finish and check in at bridge.
