May 16-17th Work Group

On the weekend of may 16-17th a few volunteers from FoCW worked on the trail at the north entrance to the Walbran side of the park. As the gate blocking access to the Central Walbran is still in place, “likely to the end of August”,  we took the opportunity  to check on the other access point.

The trail starts at the end of Haddon Main and from being so overgrown it looks like it doesn’t get much use. We cleared brush, downed trees and reflagged some sections on the trail all the way to Anderson Lk, roughly the half way point to the bridge in the Central Walbran. The trail has some amazing trees with lots of big Spruce, the lake is spectacular and there is a really nice grove of Pacific Yew trees on the southern end of the lake.

Thanks to everybody who came out. If you need directions or  GPS coordinates for the Haddon trail head please contact FoCW.
